Marketing & Strategy

Andrew joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1995 and has held numerous brand and marketing management positions over the years.  Originally from the Eastern Cape, Andrew set up The Cape Marketing & Consulting Company in 2008 after leaving his position as Marketing Director and has been consulting across various business sectors ever since.

Andrew’s main focus as a consultant is on product launch and market exit, working with clients such as Pfizer, Celgene and Nutricia to help them maximise the opportunities presented by these stages in the product lifecycle.  In addition, Andrew has also provided ad hoc consulting input into a number of agencies and organisations on subjects such as medical education and multichannel marketing.  Finally, Andrew has been working closely with Actando since April 2014 and has successfully delivered marketing training courses to delegates from across Europe and the Middle East in this capacity.

In addition to Bachelors and Honours degrees in Industrial Psychology and Business Management, Andrew holds an MBA from the University of Durham and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.


Marketing (United Kingdom)

imon has been providing B2B services and communications strategy consultancy to the global pharmaceutical industry for 20 years, working with portfolio and brand teams.

Simon has worked both agency and client side on some of the biggest selling brands in neuroscience and cardiovascular medicine. He has particular expertise working to optimize communications effectiveness in resource-constrained scenarios such as early phase development programs and peri-LOE.  In these scenarios, the challenge is to deliver creative tailored programs to leverage data and knowledgebase when client budget and headcount are limited, something Simon is particularly adept at doing.

Simon holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry from the University of Sussex.



Transformation & Executive Coaching

Vanessa is a highly experienced human resources manager, having started her HR career in a large global blue chip corporate more than a decade ago. Vanessa’s main areas of expertise are organisational transformation, performance management, coaching and career counselling.

In addition to a diploma in business management, Vanessa also holds an MBA degree and is an internationally accredited coach, career counsellor and 360 degree facilitator.



Strategy & Training (South Africa)

Tina has more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience, having worked for a number of multinational corporations such as Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and VirginActive.  

Tina’s main area of expertise is brand strategy, having worked in international marketing departments in both her native Canada and in Europe.  Tina is currently the Marketing Director of Therefour Consultants, a boutique consultancy based in Cape Town, focusing on marketing and business strategy.

In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree, Tina also holds an MBA degree from the University of Cambridge




Marketing & Strategy (United Kingdom)

Nick can best be described as a marketer who has a fairly unique blend of experience working across Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Healthcare and, most recently, the Medical Nutrition Category.

Nick started working in the pharmaceutical industry at Sanofi, followed by a number of years at Pfizer where he worked in senior marketing roles at both national and European levels. Most recently he worked for Danone where he was responsible for setting up a new business unit before moving into the consulting world.

An experienced team leader, Nick has worked across every facet of the marketing mix and in particular has significant experience in both product launches and managing LOE brands.

Nick holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Dundee.



Transformation (United States of America)

Steve has more than twenty years of experience leading change and transformation projects in the banking and media sectors. Also originally from the Eastern Cape, he has held senior line management and consulting positions, gaining deep experience in South Africa, London and New York, where he is currently based.  

Steve’s consulting work is focused on change management, organisational strategy and regulatory-driven banking projects for clients such as RBS, HSBC, CIT and the Bank of Montreal. 

In addition to Bachelors and Honours degrees in Accounting and Business Management, Steve also holds an MBA from the University of Durham.
